Zr vans are not for the faint of heart because they run very fast and stop abruptly to pick up passengers. However, the Zr vans take the more scenic routes. These vans generally depart from Bridgetown or Speightstown and the fare is BDS$1.50. Taxis on the island do not have meters but operate at government-regulated rates.

If you prefer a more comfortable ride, some hotels provide visitors with transportation services that travel to different scenic spots on the island. You can also rent a car for a more private trip. There are no multinational car rental companies on the island, but there are several locally owned and operated car rental agencies. You can rent just about anything from a minimoke to a limousine. These vehicles can be rented for hours, days and weeks. There is also a helicopter shuttle that flies to a variety of island tourist attractions in the West Coast tourist belt.

Little England is made up of eleven parishes, each with its own tourist attraction. Christ Church’s Ocean Park Barbados, St. Michael’s Barbados National Museum, St. James’ Lancaster Great House Gallery and Gardens, St. Joseph’s Andromeda Gardens are some of the many tourist places you can visit. Better check each Parish for its national attractions.

There are many activities you can do while on the mainland island. There are many caves that you can explore. Tourists can have fun strolling along the island’s boardwalk while enjoying the beautiful views of the island’s white-sand beaches. The island is also an ideal place for surfing and diving. Souvenirs are not a problem because Little England is known for its shopping district, which sells a variety of jewelry, fine clothing, and other merchandise.
